Petrick, Wesley J.
Wesley J. Petrick, 94, of Manchester, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, by the Rev. Dennis Cain. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Manchester, with a 4 p.m. Scripture service. Additional visitation will be one hour before services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, in Manchester, with military honors.
Wesley was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Prairieburg, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Anna (Lawrence) Petrick. Wesley enlisted in the United States Army on Oct. 24, 1942, during World War II.
On Sept. 11, 1951, Wesley was united in marriage to Anna May McNamara at St. John's Catholic Church in Coggon. The couple farmed near Manchester their entire life. Farming was his life - he could fix anything. Wesley enjoyed being a grandpa, taking them to Hardees every Saturday morning and attending school Masses faithfully.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Anna May; three children, Josephine Pearce of Massachusetts, John (Becky) Petrick of Eldridge and Rachel (Scott) Bishop of Manchester; five grandchildren, Sean Kearney, Courtney Petrick, Leah, Nathan and Chad Bishop; one great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Wells; and one sister, Rose Mullis of Central City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Matthew Petrick; and siblings, Lillian (Rollie) Shover, Joseph (Leonore) Petrick, Thomas Petrick and Josephine (LeRoy) Smith; and one brother-in-law, George Mullis.
