Ball, Linda Clare (Peddicord)
Linda Clare (Peddicord) Ball of Brenham has left this world to meet her Heavenly Father on Aug. 9, 2009. After a long struggle with cancer, she traded in her pain for pair of angels' wings. She was born on Jan. 13, 1940, in Barnesville, Ohio, to Charles and Genevra Armstrong.
She graduated from Barnesville High School in 1958 and went on to become a Registered Nurse, graduating from nursing school in Columbus, Ohio, in 1960. This then began her commitment of taking care of others. Throughout her nursing career she was a director of nursing, school nurse and Health Occupations teacher.
She moved to Texas in 1999 and worked as the care plan coordinator at a nursing home in Tomball, Texas, and then most recently as a nurse at the Brenham State School. She touched many lives throughout her nursing experiences.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents. She will be greatly missed by her friends and surviving family members including her husband, George A. Ball Jr; her sister, Nedra Crosier of Dublin, Ohio; her daughter, Lisa Bobbitt of Burton, Texas; her son, Larry Peddicord of Marion, Iowa, and all four of her granddaughters - Katelynn and Kacie Bobbitt of Burton, Texas, and Reese and Shea Peddicord of Marion, Iowa. Her dearest friend, M. J. Carvell of New Caney, Texas, also survives her.
Linda did not desire a funeral or memorial service. The family is respecting her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Brazos Valley, Brenham at 302 E. Blue Bell Rd. Brenham, Texas 77833 in her memory would be preferred. They have provided Linda and her family with excellent care and support throughout this difficult time.
Linda was a caring daughter, a loving mother and sister, a cool "Nana," a wonderful wife and a great friend. We were blessed to have known her and to have been loved by her. We will miss her terribly.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham. To view the obituary online or to post a tribute to the family, visit www.memorialoakschapel.com
