City human resources director, Conni Huber, on a stretcher Tuesday evening, back at work Wednesday

Firefighters might have hauled Conni Huber, the city's human resources director, out of Tuesday evening's council meeting on a stretcher. But she was back at work on Wednesday.
“I'm OK and at work today,” Huber said in an e-mail.
Fire Department spokesman Greg Buelow noted on Tuesday evening that Huber was conscious and breathing when firefighters took her from the council meeting.
The medical event came at a noteworthy time. Mayor Ron Corbett recessed the Tuesday evening meeting to allow firefighters to attend to Huber, and a short time later, Corbett pooh-poohed the idea of hiring a search firm to find a new city manager. Huber could handle the search, he said.
Huber sounded at the ready Wednesday.
