Spores, Maxine P.
Maxine P. Spores, 82, of Cedar Rapids, 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
Maxine was born April 5, 1928, in Bertram, the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Waddington) White. She married Harold Spores Sr. on May 26, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. Maxine was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church for many years.
Maxine is survived by her children, Arlene (Thomas) Barrow of Cedar Rapids, Myra (Eugene) Barrette of Hiawatha, Harold (Karol) Spores Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Jerry (Debbie) Spores of Cedar Rapids, Stanley Spores of Anamosa, John (Sheryl) Spores of Olin, and Bill Spores of Des Moines; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Frances White of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on Feb. 4, 2006; brothers, Arthur White, Dick White and Paul White; sisters, Elaine Dwyer, Helen Huggins, Carol Bartosh and Ruth Burnell; two grandchildren, BJ Spores III and Christian Spores; and a son-in-law, Tom Barrow.
A memorial fund has been established for Mercy Hospice and Camp Courageous.
