A string of job cuts at Rockwell Collins due mainly to federal military spending reductions continued Monday.
Rockwell Collins informed about 90 employees - 15 of them in Cedar Rapids - that their jobs will be eliminated.
Most of the positions were in the company's Government Systems division, which supplies defense products, and in Shared Services, company spokeswoman Pam Tvrdy said. The latter supplies support services to both the company's Commercial Systems and Government Systems division.
The reductions were at least the seventh round of cutbacks at Rockwell Collins in the last year. They are among the roughly 1,000 additional positions that Rockwell Collins Chairman and CEO Clay Jones indicated in September that the company may eliminate over the next year due primarily to federal defense cutbacks.
The 100 eliminated positions were concentrated mainly at Rockwell Collins operations in Richardson, Texas; Duluth, Ga. and Cedar Rapids, Tvrdy said, with a scattering of other locations losing one or two positions.
