Grassley is putting party before people

Bruce Braley's 2014 senatorial campaign collapsed when he was videotaped comparing his legal qualifications to those of Sen. Chuck Grassley. You'll no doubt remember Braley's worry that, 'You might have a farmer from Iowa who never went to law school, never practiced law, serving as the next chair of the Senate Judiciary. Because if Democrats lose the majority, Chuck Grassley will be the next chair of the Senate Judiciary.”

Democrats did lose the majority and Grassley did become the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. In that role, Grassley has egregiously put the Republican Party before the Constitution and the interests of the people of Iowa.

First came his denying President Barack Obama's Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland, from receiving a proper hearing. More recently, there's his stonewalling the release of important testimony concerning the firm that commissioned the investigation into possible links between Donald Trump's campaign committee and Russian officials and operatives.

This latest disregard for the safety and security of our electoral system is worse that it seems. Together with Sen. Lindsey Graham, Grassley has referred the ‘whistleblower' of possible election collusion to the Justice Department for criminal investigation. This kind of underhanded tactic is what you'd expect from a political henchman, not an honorable elected representative.

The senator who insulted working class Iowans as undeserving the same tax breaks as the wealthy because they would irresponsibly blow the money on 'booze, women, and movies” needs to resign so residents can be effectively and respectfully represented in Congress.
