Serovy, E. David
E. David Serovy, 70, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids. A family committal will be held at the Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his significant other, M. Kay Bruce of Cedar Rapids; sons, Scott Serovy of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Rick (Becky) Serovy of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Brandon and Bryce; and special friends, Karri (Matt) Miller of Hudson and Kathryn Rennhack and family of Coloma, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Serovy and Opal (Auman) Serovy-Henry.
David was born Feb. 23, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, son of Edwin Serovy and Opal (Auman) Serovy-Henry. He worked for Mid Continent Bottling Company for 40 years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, Iowa Hawkeyes sports, especially wrestling, his grandchildren's sporting events and going to Las Vegas. David especially enjoyed spending time with Kay and his sons. He was cherished greatly by his family.
