Letter: Trump does not know adversity

Most of our presidents have been men who have faced adversity and faced it down.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman and Lyndon B. Johnson and others have shared, at one time or another, the poverty, sickness, and bad luck that are the common lot of most of us. Not Donald Trump. If he so much as stubs his toe on the brick of fate, he files for bankruptcy.

In the catastrophic event Trump ever winds up in the Oval Office, I predict we will find him the most disengaged, distracted president since Warren G. Harding. He will have won his trophy and tire of it within a year.

In that same scenario, were he to have to choose between his business interests and ours, ours would be thrown under the bus in a New York minute. Yet, here he is. He has persuaded millions with his convoluted, contradictory, silly rhetoric.
