Children deserve the best education
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jan. 27, 2013 11:23 am
Every child regardless of income and where he or she lives deserves to have an equitable education. The revenue purpose statement (RPS) is not about Iowa City vs. Coralville/North Liberty, east vs. west, or elementary vs. high school. The RPS is about our kids and giving them the best education.
We need to put our differences aside and do what is best. That means we come together as a community and vote yes for our children; all children in the Iowa City Community School District and all grades.
As a parent in the Iowa City district, I will be voting yes. I want the best for my children and your children and I believe they deserve to learn in an equitable environment. Together we can lead by example. Interest rates are historically low and with the price of inflation it makes economic sense. Investing in our children's future just makes sense.
