Cedar Rapids high schools begin graduation ceremonies today

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Community School District begins high school graduation ceremonies today with 1,060 students expected to receive their diplomas.
Commencement ceremonies take place today for Metro High School, which graduates 55 students. Here is a look at other graduation dates and class sizes:
- Thursday - Washington High School, 278 graduates.
- Friday - Jefferson High School, 300 graduates.
- Saturday - Kennedy High School, 427 graduates.
The ceremonies are to air live on KCRG 9.2 starting at 7 p.m. on each date.
The commencements will be rebroadcast at the following times: Metro - 9 a.m. Saturday; Washington, 7 p.m. Tuesday; Jefferson, 7 p.m. June 1; Kennedy, 11 a.m. June 3. All four commencements also will air back-to-back starting at 9 a.m. on June 17.
The school district also is graduating students from the Home School Assistance Program and the Special Services Transition Center.
