There is nothing spectacularly revolutionary about 'Frost.” It is a solid entry in the young adult dystopian fiction world. Each major character from Frost to Romes, her dying beloved pet, to Bunt, the family's robot, has a specific role to play in the story from which they do not deviate. Evoking emotion through what seems to be an impossible goal as Frost journeys through a post-apocalyptic world ruled by robots and plagued by some weird zombification virus, author M.P. Kozlowsky keeps the right amount of tension to keep your attention until the big secret is revealed. As the story progresses, readers may want know more about what created the world that Frost lives in. What caused the downfall of humans and the rise of the robots? How long much time has passed since 'the Big Event?” Did Frost's father really play a role in the event that caused the robots to rise? However, not many answers are given by the time story ends. The lack of answers, however, does not detract from the story as it is truly character driven.
'Frost” has characters to root for and those you hope meet their doom. In the end, you will hope that Frost is able to achieve her goal of saving Romes and reaching the Battery. Her heart and determination will win you over.
