Gibbs, Wanda M.
Wanda M. Gibbs, 77, a resident of the Solon Nursing Care Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Jan. 23, 2010, at Mercy Iowa City. Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Dr. Barbara Schlachter of Christ Episcopal Church will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and Tuesday after 2:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Surviving to honor her memory are her three daughters, Cindy (Michael) Fountain of Cedar Rapids, Gayla (Frank) Stastny of Newhall, Iowa, and Laura (Steve) Kirk of Narka, Kan.; a brother, Lee Borron of Tahlequah, Okla.; a sister, Barbara Payne of New Braunfels, Texas; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Everett.
Wanda was born Feb. 16, 1932, at Three Sands, Okla., to Everett and Lucille Harp Borron. She married Bob Lee Gibbs on July 31, 1949, in Sedan, Kan. He died in 1980.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
