Talk to Linn supervisors about taxes post-flood
Aug. 18, 2009 12:48 am
This is for the people who had flood damage and had a shock with the property tax.
The Linn County supervisors have the sole power to abate part or all of the taxes. In my opinion, there is one other option they should consider: defer the tax and later collect, when the property is sold or when there is a buyout.
Property owners should write to the supervisors and express their feelings. Supervisors need to hear from the people who are affected.
