                                    Levi Sr., Thomas Edward
Thomas Edward Levi Sr., 73, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, Texas. Homegoing services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 29, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Damian Epps presiding. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. today at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Thomas was born March 12, 1940, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Lawrence and Vivian (Sims) Levi. He served in the military for 20 years, and within the community of Cedar Rapids. Thomas was united in marriage to Ethel Louise Sabb on Oct. 20, 1973, in Jacksonville, Fla. Thomas worked as a technical writer with Rockwell Collins until retiring due to illness.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Ethel; children, Arthur (Shelly), Thomas Jr. and Yolanda (Mark) Robinson; a sister, Deborah (Elton) Martin Sr.; sister-in-law, Edna Levi; 12 grandchildren, Tyler, Kayla, Skyler, Rolanda, Ziron, Jalen, LaTasia, LaAsia, TyAsia, Diamond, Mark Jr. and Mareon; a great-grandson, La'Pries; nieces and nephews; godchildren, Andre Goodman and Miranda Reed; and his mother-in-law, Areatha Hopper.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Vivian Levi; a brother, Austin Levi; and a sister, Emily King.
