Health issue shows money put before people
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 9, 2009 12:16 am
It's been said that money is more important than people in the United States. If a public option is not included in the eventual health insurance legislation, we will end up with yet another program that subsidizes corporations with our tax dollars.
It shouldn't be a surprise. No plan that might slow the growth of insurance company profits really stands a chance when the industry funnels so much money to Sens. Max Baucus, Chuck Grassley and the rest.
Once again, the U.S. government will protect money and leave people on their own.
