College WBB Round up: Coe tops Simpson 75-69 at Eby Fieldhouse

Courteney McCrary sparked Coe to a 75-69 victory over Simpson Wednesday night at Eby Fieldhouse, scoring 20 points off the bench on 4-of-4 3-point shooting in an Iowa Conference opener.
Coe (8-4) handed Simspon (10-2) just its second loss of the year.
Also in double figures for the Kohawks were Mickey Hansche with 15 points, Aleena Hobbs 14 and Jenn Lehman 10.
KIRKWOOD 65, MARSHALLTOWN 51
— Kirkwood improved to 12-4 last night at Marshalltown with its eighth straight victory.
The Eagles, ranked fourth nationally in NJCAA Division II, got 16 points from Taylor Silva, 11 from Tyra Polite and 10 from Anna Martensen. Kirsten Larson led the team with five assists. Larson and Polite each had six rebounds.
Kirkwood plays No. 7 NIACC in Mason City this Saturday.
LUTHER 68, WARTBURG 59
— Luther trailed by four points at halftime before surging to win its Iowa Conference opener at Waverly.
Megan Koepnick hit 7 of 11 shots and scored 16 points for the Norse (11-1). Moran Lonning added 15 points, Ann Madrigal 13 and Kylie Romeo 10.
Kailey Kladivo led Wartburg (9-3) with 24 points.
CORNELL 108, KNOX 100
— In a high-scoring Midwest Conference affair, Rikki Mulloy, Taylor Dicus and Maggie Hogen led the charge for the Rams (6-6, 4-3).
Mulloy hit 10 of 14 shots, including 4 of 7 treys, and scored 28 points. Dicus and Hogen recorded double-doubles — Dicus with 24 points and 13 rebounds, Hogen with 18 and 11.
Dicus surpassed the career 1,000-point mark in a game that produced 125 second-half points after a 43-40 Cornell lead at halftime.
CLARKE 58, MOUNT MERCY 50
— The Mustangs (9-10, 0-1) were tripped up in a Midwest Collegiate Conference opener at Dubuque.
Mount Mercy, which trailed 34-29 at halftime, shot just 23 percent — 14 of 61 overall and 6 of 24 from 3-point range. Makenzie Zeitler scored 13 points, Christa Oldham 12 and Alisa Weiland 11.
