Organ, Peggy M.
Peggy M. Organ, 75, of Solon, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at the Solon Nursing Care Center.
Peggy M. McCrea was born March 6, 1936, in Culross, Manitoba, Canada, daughter of Richard and Evelyn (Thompson) McCrea. She graduated from the University of Toronto and the University of Iowa with a degree in Occupational Therapy and went on to work at the university for many years. She was employed as an occupational therapist, and for a few years was director of occupational therapy at the university. She also taught briefly at Kirkwood and the university. In June of 1967, she married Cecil Organ in Moline, Ill. For many years the two lived in Coralville before moving to their farm in Solon, Iowa. Peggy enjoyed her crosswords, computer solitaire and time spent crocheting. She adored her grandchildren and cherished time spent with them.
Her family includes her husband, Cecil; daughters, Marlana Miller (Blaine) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Elycia Hansen (Erik) of Everett, Wash.; son, Allen Organ of Solon; and grandchildren, Connor and Quinn Miller and Milla Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Norman McCrea.
In accordance with Peggy's wishes no services will be held. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Peggy's arrangements and her family.
