Authorities have charged a Linn County inmate who was released from jail to look for a job and didn't return.
Joshua McCool, 20, was serving 90 days at the Linn County Jail for a probation violation. He started his sentence June 22, but he was granted work release by the court.
He was released Monday at 9 a.m. to find a job, and was required to return at 3 p.m., but he did not come back, authorities said.
On Thursday, McCool was arrested and taken to the Linn County Jail. He was charged Friday morning with escape, a serious misdemeanor that could add up to a year to his 90-day probation violation sentence.
