NEW FINKBINE CLUBHOUSE PLANNED — A new University of Iowa Finkbine Golf Course Clubhouse will more than quadruple the size of the facility it's replacing, bringing the venue on par with its peers and establishing the university as a championship-level tournament site capable of hosting NCAA collegiate golf events. DEPUTY'S SHOOTING ACTIONS DEEMED JUSTIFIED — The actions of a deputy in the officer-involved shooting death of a North English man have been ruled justified by the Iowa County Attorney's Office. Robin L. Blaylock, 53, of 108 S. Walnut St. was killed last month as a result of a gunshot wound inflicted on him by Iowa County deputy Blake Heller, who also serves part-time as a police officer for Williamsburg and Marengo. SCHOOL FUNDING EQUITY SUIT DISMISSED — A lawsuit challenging the legality of Iowa's school funding formula has been dismissed in District Court. The ruling highlights remaining questions as to whether education is a basic right in the state. Chase Cartee of the Cartee Law Firm in Davenport, which represented the plaintiffs, said they are considering an appeal.
