MARION - The Linn-Mar school board this week set a public hearing on the district's proposed 2017-18 budget for 7 p.m. April 10.
The hearing takes place in the media center at Indian Creek Elementary School, 2900 Indian Creek Road, Marion.
Action on the budget, along with the district's property tax rate, is to be taken following the hearing.
Although state supplemental aid will increase by only 1.11 percent for next year, Linn-Mar administrators have elected to keep the district's property tax rate at $17.38 per $1,000 of taxable valuation for the third consecutive year.
The Linn-Mar Community School District has estimated its budgetary requirements for 2017-18 at $135.3 million. The budget is based on a certified enrollment of 7,312 students, up 114 students from this year.
