Grimm, Lloyd 'Dick' Everett
Lloyd “Dick” Everett Grimm, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, surrounded by his family. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Springs of Life Foursquare Church, by Pastor Don Jackson. Family will greet friends Sunday, Aug. 26, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post 727 Honor Guard.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 52 years, Berdena; his children, Korri (Jerry) Westen of Solon, Bradley (Sandy) Grimm of Cedar Rapids and Jaleda (Marty) Schminkey of Olin; grandchildren, Derek, Brock, Travis, Ronaka, Austin, Zebediah, Tristan and Joziah; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Beverly Ballard, Ronnie Grimm and Delbert Grimm, all of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Margie Ballard, Ernest “Jack”, Wayne, Glenn and Bennie Grimm.
Dick was born May 11, 1934, the son of Harold and Edith (Gingrich) Grimm, in Keystone, Iowa. He served honorably in the United States Navy. On Sept. 3, 1960, Dick was united in marriage to Berdena Hill. He was an 18-wheel truck driver.
Dick enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and loved driving. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone when needed.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Dick.
