Lois M. Stock, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, surrounded by her family at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Clarence Cemetery in Clarence following a luncheon at the church. Visiation will be one hour before the service.
Lois was born to Howard W. and Helen (Parker) McClellan on April 28, 1933, in Clarence. She married John W. Stock on Dec. 27, 1953, at the Clarence United Methodist Church. He died March 2, 2014.
Lois graduated from Clarence High School in 1951 and attended Iowa State Teachers College. She taught in the Cedar Rapids schools from 1953 to 1963 and later returned to the profession she loved as a substitute teacher.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Abigail-Anna Circle.
She cherished her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, David (Lori) Stock of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Julie (Rodney) Kress of Clarence; grandchildren, Evan and Jason Stock and Logan and Taylor Kress; and nieces, DeAnn Filkins of Earlham and Susan (Michael) Hope of Waukee.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, John; and sister, Rosalyn Dawson.
