Griffith, Arlene M.
Arlene M. Griffith, 82, of 5407 Wyoming Dr. SW, died Tuesday, Feb. 23. 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include her husband, Dale; one daughter, Deanna (Mike) Kroemer of Blairstown; three sons, Jack (Barb) of Sheridan, Wyo., Gary (Nancy) of Solon, and Scott of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Shirley (George) Schneiter of Monticello, and Lorraine (Bob) Hudak of Connecticut; and one brother, Robert (Marj) Lubben of Monticello. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin; and a sister, Esther.
Arlene was born on May 23, 1927, in Monticello, the daughter of Will and Anna Harms Lubben. She married Dale D. Griffith on Dec. 21, 1944, in Cedar Rapids. Arlene worked at McKesson Drug Company and retired from there after 15 years of service. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Arlene and Dale liked to travel, especially to Hawaii, Las Vegas and spending weekends at their cabin on Lake Delhi. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and time spent with her friends and family.
A memorial fund has been established in Arlene's name.
