How would you support teachers who voluntarily use their own money to buy materials for their classroom? Is there enough concern about inadequate state and local funding, and what can be done to provide appropriate money for each classroom, for each kid?

Given that costs for everything keep growing and will continue to grow, how would you as a school board member reduce administrative costs for our area schools to maximize the total amount available for pupil education?

Question 1: What are the specific problems you recognize in the Iowa school system? What goals would you establish to rectify these problems? What are the milestones to achieve those goals? How will you measure and make public your progress toward those goals and milestones and how will you follow up after the goals are attained?
Question 2: What are your goals to establish performance levels for teachers? How will you evaluate teacher's performance for adherence to those performance levels, and how will you appropriate compensation according to progress toward those performance levels?
