Kopish, James R.
James R. Kopish, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at his home following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Jim will be cremated following the service.
He is survived by a son, Jim (Jamie) Kopish of Huntersville, N.C.; a daughter, Elizabeth Kopish of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Aaron, Dillan and Hayley; three brothers and two sisters.
Jim was born Oct. 17, 1956, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Shirlee (Bockert) Kopish. He was married to Mary Jagerson for 17 years. They later divorced. Jim worked at Cargill for 17 years and the last 15 years at Paetec as a locator dispatcher. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and doing activities with them. Jim mostly liked taking care of his dog, Chase.
He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
