Johnston, John G.
John G. Johnston, 91, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at his son's home following a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at First Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine by Pastor Dean Duncan. Inurnment will be in Rector Cemetery, Chelsea, with military rites. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Arrangements are with Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine.
He is survived by one son, the Rev. John F. Johnston of Parkman, Maine; seven grandchildren, Christine (Jake) Bingler, Michael (Debbie), Brian (Marci), Nathan, Amanda, Paul and Timothy; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah and Russell Bingler, Kaitlyn and Zachary Johnston and Abigail Johnston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille in December 2005; his parents; brother, Wallace; and grandsons, Stephen and Peter Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to First Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine.
