Two sex assaults reported at University of Iowa over weekend

University of Iowa Police received two reports of sexual assault occurring in a residence hall or halls on the east side of campus.
One sex assault was reportedly 'perpetrated by an acquaintance” of the victim at an east side residence hall on March 19, according to a University of Iowa media release.
Another sex assault was reported a day later, also involving an acquaintance of the reporting victim and also in an east side residence hall.
No more details about either report were included in the release.
The university issues warning messages to campus when it receives crime reports - including sexual assault allegations - in compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
The University of Iowa Police encourages members of the public to call the police at 911 if they believe a crime has been committed. To contact University of Iowa Police directly call (319) 335-5022.
