Armed robbery investigation in Cedar Rapids
CEDAR RAPIDS - The lone employee at the Hawkeye Convenience Store escaped out the back door at her 1120 Old Marion Road NE workplace after two men entered, displayed a black handgun and demanded she open the cash register.
With the employee gone, the two robbers had no access to the register, so they fled the store on foot towards Old Marion Road, after taking some cigarillos from behind the counter, police said.
Police described both robbers were as young males, both were wearing black ski-masks and black Carhardt jackets.
No one was injured and police are still investigating the robbery.
