Malacek, Sherry E.
Sherry E. Malecek, 56, of Cedar Rapids, passed away suddenly following a long illness Monday, Oct. 10, 2011. Per Sherry's wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Malecek; her sons, Andrew Merritt of Valparaiso, Ind., and Jamie Webb of Coralville; her parents, John and Joyce Webb of Independence; her brother, Scott (Angela) Webb, also of Independence; and her grandchildren, Josie, Belle, Aliza and Drake Merritt.
Sherry was born Dec. 18, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, the beloved daughter of John and Joyce (Hall) Webb. She graduated from East Buchanan High School, and later graduated from Hawkeye Tech Community College with a degree in respiratory therapy. She worked as a Certified Medical Aide at various nursing homes throughout Eastern Iowa. She married Dave Malecek in November 2003. Sherry enjoyed gardening, time with family and her beloved dog, Caesar.
She will forever be remembered for her loving and giving spirit and her interest in taking care of others. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
