McDermott, Lois
Lois McDermott, 89, of Charles City, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City.
Lois Maxine Rademacher McDermott was born May 26, 1922, in Floyd County, the daughter of Herman and Glea (Hill) Rademacher. She graduated from Floyd High School. On Oct. 13, 1943, she married James McDermott at Lampasse, Texas. They lived in Texas and Virginia, moving to Charles City after World War II.
Living family members include six children, Steve (Cindy) McDermott of Charles City, Barbara (Robert) McMurchy of Floyd, Ron (Sue) McDermott of Mount Vernon, Rita (Jim) Sanner of Charles City, Mark (Mary) McDermott of Swisher and David (DeAnna) McDermott of Council Bluffs; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
