Schnoebelen, Theresa Lynn (Piper)

 Theresa Lynn (Piper) Schnoebelen, 48, of rural Iowa City, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at her home following a brief illness, with her mother, husband, and Patches, her cat, by her side. Funeral services will 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills. Burial will be at St. Vincent Cemetery near Riverside. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where a parish rosary will be recited at 5 p.m.

Theresa Lynn Piper was born April 14, 1962, in Iowa City. She attended and later graduated with the class of 1980 from Regina High School. On Oct. 20, 1984, she was united in marriage to Brian E. Schnoebelen in Oxford. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills. She has served as chapter president of Beta Theta of Beta Sigma Phi since its inception, and was a member of Six in the City. She enjoyed beading, creating and sharing her works with others, doing various arts and crafts projects, was an avid computer user, reading her Kindle, and in recent years, has cared so lovingly for her mother in their home.

Her family includes her husband, Brian; mother, Patricia Piper; brother and his wife, Christopher and Mary Jo Piper of Coralville; her in-laws, Dale and Connie Schnoebelen of Iowa City; sisters-in-law, Lynn Knight and Kelly Schnoebelen, both of Iowa City; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, three nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; and a brother-in-law, Jay Schnoebelen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Theresa's memory to SPCA for the care of cats and dogs.
