Ring, Patricia M. 'Pat'

Patricia M. “Pat” Ring, 82, of Bon Aire Mobile Home Lodge, died suddenly Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, in her home. Pat chose to be cremated. The family will greet friends Sunday to celebrate Pat's life from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville.

Pat was born June 10, 1928, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Charles S. and Bertha (Jones) Lyle. Raised in Nashua and Waverly, graduating from Waverly High School, Pat moved to the Iowa City area in 1950. Pat married Edgardo Cruz on June 11, 1952, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The couple later divorced. On Feb. 22, 1963, she married Donald Ring in Iowa City. The couple later divorced.

Pat studied piano at Cornell College (Mount Vernon) and taught piano for many years out of her home.

She worked for ACT in Iowa City in the Publications Department as a compositor from 1974–1979 and later in data processing for the State Geological Survey, retiring in 1993.

Pat enjoyed a passion for organic gardening and was a member of the Iowa Mountaineers for many years.

Survivors include her sons, Edgardo L. Ring of Iowa City and Marc S. Cruz of Accokeek, Md.; and a sister, Marilyn J. Lyle Hart (Kelly) of Windsor Heights.

Her parents and her husbands preceded her in death.
