Letter: Boycott when people kneel for anthem
Laddie D. Oliver
Oct. 19, 2017 1:00 am
I am asking citizens to assert their right to be absent from all sport activity where players have taken advantage of their right to ignore the national anthem.
Black and white standing together; military, police and firemen sacrifice their body parts and their lives for the rights of United States' citizens. Boycotting of games is a right, showing respect and proof sacrifice has not been in vain. Standing with hat/hand over the heart while veterans may salute indicates reverence for personal sacrifice.
The United States' flag embodies and reflects the above.
