Bextine, Grace L.
Grace L. Bextine, 93, of Omaha, Texas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died May 10, 2011, following an extended illness. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Bob David of First Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.
Surviving are her sons, Miles Bextine of Texas and Ralph Bextine of California; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Grace was born Nov. 25, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Miles K. and Elsie (Theade) Buckley. She was united in marriage to Raymond E. Bextine on Jan. 25, 1941, in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1997. She was a member of First Congregational Church for over 60 years.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to First Congregational Church in Cedar Rapids.
