Elsie Mae DuToit, 95, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with the Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Elsie was born on Jan. 3, 1923, on a farm near Garwin, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ella (Groenwoldt) Harrison.
She graduated from Garwin High School in 1941.
On July 25, 1942, she was united in marriage to BerDell DuToit in Lancaster, Mo. The couple farmed in the Toledo and Marshalltown areas. In 1948, they moved to a farm near Clutier and, in 1996, Elsie moved to Toledo. She loved gardening and flowers.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Damisch of Toledo, LaRue (Gene) Sebesta of Tama and LaRetta (Bob) Dvorsky of Solon; seven grandchildren, Todd (Karla) Sebesta of Toledo, Terry (Wendy) Damisch of Victor, Ron (Gwen) Damisch of Cedar Rapids, Brenda (Joe) Green of Waukee, Kevin (Katherine) Damisch of Cedar Rapids and Brad (Michelle) Dvorsky and Brent Dvorsky of Solon; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, BerDell, on Sept. 14, 1994; and two grandsons, Martin Sebesta and Mark Damisch.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation for the care given by the staff at Sunny Hill Care Center, UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown and Iowa River Hospice.
