Time for a new lineup on the city council here

Josiah Charles Stamp, an English economist wrote: “It is easy to dodge our responsibilities but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.”
Those consequences in University Heights, masked in ambiguous statements, unrefined planning assumptions and general lack of respect for the voice of the community, make councilors Pat Yeggy, Mike Haverkamp and wannabe councilors Jim Lane and Amanda Whitmer non-UH team players.
These candidates should be benched for dodging the score card (a professional UH survey showing citizen distrust of the Maxwell proposal), for dodging the results of a special election which ousted project supporter Lane from the game and dodging the detailed report of a council-hired accounting firm (in essence “word” from the coaching corner).
Game time is Tuesday when U Heights voters head to the polls. We urge voters not to dodge their responsibility to vote for the four candidates on the All Star “We Are for UH” Team: returning veteran player Brennan McGrath, last election's star recruit Rosanne Hopson, who ousted Lane, and this year's first draft picks, Jan Leff and Rachel Stewart.
