Glenn Manderscheid, 63, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at UnityPoint – St. Luke's Hospice, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Mass Of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Newhall, with Father Mike Mescher as celebrant. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery near Newhall. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton.
A memorial fund has been established.
Glenn was born Sept. 24, 1952, in Maquoketa to Orville and Marie (Ryan) Manderscheid. He graduated from Wahlert High School in Dubuque and later attended college.
On Aug. 2, 1986, he was united in marriage to Anne Rinderknecht at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.
Before his retirement, Glenn was employed at an area car wash.
In addition to his wife, Anne, he is survived by his brothers, Eldon (Judy) Manderscheid of Zwingle, Roger (Judy) Manderscheid of Antioch, Ill., and Duane (Mary) Manderscheid of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; his sister, Carol (Gary) Ernst of Asbury; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gerald Manderscheid; and his sister, Ardis Cobar.
