Werning, Leroy
Leroy Werning, 79, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Crestview Acres Nursing Home in Marion following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, with the Rev. Wilfred Karsten officiating. Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery near Newhall. Friends may call at the church in Newhall from 2 p.m. until service time.
Leroy was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Newhall to Arthur and Emma (Wiese) Werning and graduated from Newhall High School in 1950. He farmed in the Newhall area. Leroy enjoyed reading, music, visiting friends and family, fishing and roller skating
He is survived by his son, Jason (Joyce) Werning of Blue Grass; his daughter, Ann Bukowski of Lexington, Ky.; his grandchildren, Emma and Kasia Bukowski and Julia and Jordan Werning; his brothers, Duane (Bonnie) Werning of Shellsburg, Wilfred (Doris) Werning of Van Horne and Vernon (Tammy) Werning of Newhall; his sisters, Lorene (Alfred) Karsten of Marengo and Ruth (Don) Huedepohl of Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Delbert, Merlin and Charles Werning.
