EVELYN RUTH RIEDESEL

Evelyn Ruth Riedesel, 92, formerly of Tipton and Clarence, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, in the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will be held in St. Paul Cemetery, Wheatland. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born May 22, 1925, in Tipton, Iowa. She was the daughter of Frederick John and Edna Ruth Loomis Behrend. Evelyn attended Tipton High School and on April 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to Melvin "Dutch" Riedesel in Tipton. Evelyn was one of Jehovah's Witnesses in Anamosa and was a homemaker and a baby sitter.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Mary (Mrs. Dan) Levsen of Clarence; sons, LeRoy (Mrs. Barbara) Riedesel of Clarence and Robert (Mrs. Ronna) Riedesel of Clinton; sister, Arlene Hines of Clarence; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin "Dutch" Riedesel; and brothers, Robert, Richard, Melvin and Lee.
