Jeffords, Roland L. 'Rollie'

Roland L. Jeffords “Rollie,” 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Rollie was born July 17, 1940, in Iowa City, to Floyd and Dorothy (Miner) Jeffords. He attended Wilson High School and was part of the first graduating class at Jefferson High School in 1958. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1965. Rollie married Rosemary Goodyear April 15, 1972 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Island, Ill. He was employed by Penick & Ford for many years, before joining General Mills and retiring in 2003.

Rollie is survived by his wife, Rosemary; sons, Eric wife Jennifer and their children, Jake Roland, Evan, Eris and Jasper, and Brian wife Tracey and their children, Camryn and Connor; brother, Ben wife Pat; uncle, Dick wife Lois Miner; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rollie was a good bowler and enjoyed playing in softball leagues. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage on the Wapsi.
