Linn County Supervisor Linda Langston will join President Obama on Tuesday for a meeting on health care reform.
Langston, chairwoman of the health steering committee for the National Association of Counties, was invited to the East Room of the White House for Tuesday's event.
She has been speaking to St. Luke's Hospital CEO Ted Townsend and Mercy Medical Center CEO Tim Charles to prepare.
Langston said the two hospital leaders are still concerned about Medicare reimbursement for Iowa doctors and other incentives for primary care physicians.
Obama will discuss progress in the nation's health care reform in the three months since legislation was passed in March.
“We're only three months in, so a lot of the rules are still being written,” Langston said.
She did not know who else was invited to Tuesday's event.
Langston said she has special interest in implementing electronic health records as part of health care reform.
