Peck, David A.
David A. Peck, 76, of Marion, died Sept. 14, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at First Assembly of God Church, Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Rick Gail officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Entombment will follow the funeral service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Bette L. Peck; his children, Jeff Peck of Marion, Charles Peck of Green Bay, Wis., and Karen Hotz of Cedar Rapids; his granddaughter, Lisa Hotz; his siblings, Dale Peck and wife Mary Kay of Galena, Ill., Anna Mae Peck of South Dakota and Ellen Miller and husband Gary of Amana; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Danny Peck; and his sister, Alice Peck.
David August Peck was born Oct. 27, 1935, in Watkins, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Ida Mae (Wendel) Peck. He was united in marriage to Bette L. Chamberlain on Oct. 5, 1963, in Cedar Rapids. They would have been married 49 years this October. He worked for the Department of Transportation for several years in road maintenance.
He enjoyed fishing and was part of a garden ministry in previous years. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David's honor may be directed to the family.
