Power outage in Jones County
Utility crews are looking for the cause of a power outage in Jones County.
The problem caused a breaker at Alliant Energy's Mount Vernon substation to trip at 7:45 p.m., cutting power to 2,385 customers in the Olin, Wyoming, Monticello, and locations in between, said Alliant spokeswoman Nancy Craig.
Craig said crews are patrolling transmission lines in the area to locate the fault. Because the cause hasn't been located, she was unable to estimate when power may be restored.
