Washburn, Dixie Lou
Dixie Lou Washburn, 65, formerly of 440 26th St., Marion, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Crestview Acres Care Center, Marion. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial: Oakshade Cemetery, Marion.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Washburn and his wife, Marlene of Marion.
Also surviving are her special friend, Richard Wheeler, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Tod Washburn.
Dixie was born Dec. 10, 1944, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Ruth Washburn. Before she became ill, Dixie was employed by T.J. Maxx. She loved sports and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Dixie's memory.
