To the editor:
Most people don't think about the fact that some people don't have enough or any food, because it's always right there, but there are many hungry people.
Almost one billion humans are chronically hungry. Hunger is deadly, claiming 30,000 lives every day, and 6 million children's lives per year. Many people are hungry, but the world has enough food. The reason so many people are hungry is because it's not distributed evenly.
I have a simple idea to help that almost everyone can do easily. If we spread the word about hunger, more people will know about it and want to help by donating. So to help hunger, make donations to hunger organizations at places like the North Liberty Food Pantry or Salvation Army. If you don't feel like going out to donate resources, you can donate money online at websites like www.wfp.org. It's really easy, and all you have to do is click and you are helping the world become a little less hungry.
