Hanson, Donald Gregg

1961, Lennox in Marshalltown from 1961-1974, and Stamats Publishing from 1974 until his retirement in 1983.

Don was a phenomenal historian, independent individual, captivating storyteller, and positive role model with an engaging smile and fantastic sense of humor. He was the epitome of a gentleman! His youth was forever captured in Grant Wood's painting “Adoration of the Home.”

The loving support of friends and family helped Don enjoy an amazing life and his stories will live on in the hearts of many.

He was preceded in death by Martha Hanson and his brother, Robert Hanson.

Don is survived by his sister, Dawn Heusinkveld of Cedar Rapids; nieces, Dede Histand and family of Colorado and K O'Brien and family of Springville, Iowa; and nephew, J Greg Sheets of Colorado.

Respecting Don's wishes, no services will be held. A celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
