Guy E. Polton, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital from
complications of CHF. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Pastor Erika Uthe. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. and Wednesday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; son, Michael (Diane) Polton of Ely; daughter, Katherine (Jeff) Jeffords, and son, Tim (Kim) Polton, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Josh and Zach Polton and Joe Jeffords; and great- grandchildren, Damian and Kaylyn Jeffords.
His sisters, Jean Pallister, Betty Young and Mildred Johnson, and brothers, Donald and Richard Polton, preceded Guy in death.
Guy Edwin was born Aug. 24, 1936, in Leon, Iowa, the son of Joseph L. and Lois M. Troxel Polton. He married Joyce Karr on Feb. 18, 1956, at Calvary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids. He owned and operated Polton Enterprises for many years.
Guy enjoyed boating, fishing, street rods and the Bears. He loved traveling and wintering in Texas with his wife.
He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him, and by his dogs, Sumi and Ginger.
