RoughRiders tryout camp begins Thursday

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders conduct their annual tryout camp Thursday through Sunday at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. Each session is open and free to the public.

The camp opens with a practice Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Games will be played Friday, with start times scheduled for 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

It is the same Saturday, with a Green and White Game of top camp players from 7:30 to 9:30. The camp concludes Sunday morning at 10 with another 'all-star” game.

Players from the 2014-15 team eligible to return next season will participate, as will those on the RoughRiders' affiliate roster and draft picks from last month.

No 2015-16 roster will be set by this weekend's camp. The United States Hockey League has dates throughout the summer in which teams have main roster and affiliate roster limits.
