Reiland, Genevieve M. 'Ginger'

Ginger was Deputy Clerk of Court in Johnson County for many years, retiring in 1988. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Johnson County Legal Secretaries Association.

Ginger always encouraged her children to have a positive lookout on life. Her favorite quote was, “if you take the time to do something, do the best you can.”

Ginger is survived by five children, Paul (Debra) Reiland of West Linn, Ore., Dr. Tom Reiland of Scottsdale, Ariz., Richard Reiland of Iowa City, Ann Marie (James) Stainbrook of Independence and Michael (Karen) Reiland of Solon; one sister, Leona (Hubert) Rummelhart of Iowa City; 11 grandchildren, Kimberlee, Joanne, Jaime, Jeremy, Melissa, James, Keith, Ashlen, Matthew, Megan and Joseph; five great-grandchildren, Alaina, Avery, Kiera, Maitland and Owen; her former spouse, Raymond of Iowa City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Beth; one brother, Lawrence; two sisters, Marcella and Lucille; and one grandson, Joseph Michael Reiland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
