Walters, George 'Ervin'
George “Ervin” Walters, 81, of Marengo, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Marengo Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo. Burial will be in Marengo Cemetery, with military honors. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 18, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Memorials may be contributed to the Rose Haven Activity Fund or Marengo Memorial Hospital.
Ervin is survived by his daughters, Lina Rae Busse (Jim) of West Chester, Ohio, and Pam Huedepohl (Mark) of Shelbyville, Ky.; two granddaughters, Brittani Busse of Houston, Texas and Bethani Bradley (Stephen) of Wake Forest, N.C.; a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Rae Bradley; and a sister, Darlene Bral of Marengo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lina (Scales) Walters; his wife, Marilyn Knock Walters in 2004; and siblings, Lena Bigbee, Baunetta Watson, Iris Siske and Clarice and Farel in infancy.
The family would like to thank the staff of Rose Haven Nursing Home and Marengo Memorial Hospital for the excellent care and concern that was extended to Ervin. A special thank you to Karen and Mike Schmitz for always “being there” for Ervin and his family.
